Blood Orange Blossom concerns the formation of Israel and so it was appropriate that the characters symbolize these efforts with reference to the Old Testament. We see in Rudi Bastler and his wife Noami, the myth of Noah's Ark, which follows through with him preserving the vine and banishing his son Seth. In Daniel, we see him beset with halucinatory dreams and a warrior zeal as he recovers from his Babylonian hell to walk with the lions of Irgun. Finally Avram is the figure Abraham who puts his public role ahead of his son's health and leads with principle and skilful negotiation.
