Whispering Birches

In Whispering Birches, Mihael is first seen as Franz's schoolmate. He attempts to flee the Nazis in Vienna, but finds himself eventually in Auschwitz camp prisoner in Aufräumungs Kommando who are responsible for clearing the Ramp.Through his ambitious persistence, he escapes the camp and publishes a report that eventually exposes the horror.
